A good movie worth contemplating...
During my last stay in Indonesia, I watched Lorax.
My big bro told me that it’s a really good movie.
And, there is Danny DeVito in it..!
Indeed, it’s awesome..!!!
Superb animation, original characters and casts, interesting story line and awesome music...
The main winning point is the value and the message conveyed in and through the movie.
Thneedville reminds me a lot of Jakarta.
A city full of buildings, highways and artificial plants
A city that offers so much entertainment and hang-out spots
A city that, deceivingly, offers so much ‘fun’
The lights of Jakarta are blinding
The cool breeze of high-tech AC is a cover-up for the heavily polluted air
The building and malls leave no space for a proper park or open space for the city and its people
The packed roads and traffic jam have this undeniable power to drive people insane
The synthetic plants are pleasant for the eyes
They require practically no maintenance
The flowers are blooming throughout the year
Who wants real plants?
Real flowers?
Real grass?
Me..!

As a kid who had her childhood in the Borneo Island, surrounded by greens (real ones), mighty trees and colourful-vibrant coloured flowers...
I want real trees
